Are you looking for a fun
and educational outing for your group? The volunteers of American Wings Air
Museum invite scouts to join us at the museum for a fun and informative visit.
The volunteers have
developed programs that are tailored to the age of scouts. For the
Webaloes and Cub Scouts, we provide a guided tour of the museum, time in the
trainers, viewing of an age appropriate video and a packet of aviation-related
books for each Scout.
For the
Boy Scouts, we have an Aviation Merit Badge Program that is designed to
help
complete the elective requirements of the Aviation Merit Badge book. This
program offers the following options: a ground school covering how to use an
aeronautical chart, pre-flight training on one of the museum aircraft, a
guided tour of the museum, a video about being an airline pilot, a
discussion of aviation careers and a packet of information about aviation
careers for the troop leader to share with the Scouts. Scouts should read
(and troop leaders should review) the Aviation Merit Badge book before
coming to the museum.
We offer
these programs on Saturdays,
at
10:00am
and 1:00pm.
We ask for a two week advance booking for these programs. Our normal
admission fee is
$5.00
for adults and $3.00 for students. But, we offer these programs for just
$3.00
per person - including adults. Please call 763-786-4146 to schedule your
visit. We look forward to seeing you!
